December 2021 Content Ideas and Inspiration
Finally! Our favourite month of the year has come! We can’t wait for the all celebratory events we can spend with our family and friends! Starting with St. Nicholas Day, ending with Christmas and New Year’s Eve! There are, of course, other amazing events in between such as Brownie Day, Christmas Jumper Day or Tick Tock Day! December is just the best time to put on the cosy jumper you were just given as a Christmas present, relax in front of the fireplace and eat and laugh with your loved ones!

Fun Facts
The Anglo-Saxons called December Aerra Geola (Before Yule).
An almanac prediction states that if snow falls on Christmas Day, Easter will be warm, green and sunny.
The name December comes from the Latin ‘decem’ for ten, as it was the 10th month in the Roman Calendar.
The term Yuletide comes from a Norse tradition of cutting and burning a tree to bring in the Winter Solstice. This was to last through 12 days – later known as the 12 days of Christmas.
Saint Nicholas, who would eventually be called Santa Claus, was originally the patron saint of children, thieves and pawnbrokers!
December 28th is considered by some to be the unluckiest day of the year.
The first artificial Christmas tree was made in Germany, fashioned out of goose feathers that were dyed green!
Spiders and spider webs are considered good luck at Christmas.
Common decorations on a Christmas tree each have their specific meanings. Candles – the light of the world, the Star at the top is a reminder of the first Christmas night and Candy canes are to represent the Nativity Shepherd’s cane, known as a crook.

There are holidays for every business and personality and, as a result, there are loads to choose from and I’m sure you’ll find some that are perfect for your business!
You can look up hundreds of fun holidays online to connect with your followers. Just type in ‘special events’ or ‘holiday days’ in your search engine of choice! Be careful to add the year, though, as the date of many of these events changes each year.
The alternative is to follow our blog series every month. We plan to publish January’s suggestions at the end of November, February’s at the end of December, and so on.
